Obtaining an Account

You are eligible to receive a NE Network account if you are a student or a faculty member in the Department of Nuclear Engineering. To have access to any departmental system you must have an account. To obtain an account, fill out the account sign-up sheet on the bulletin board outside of Zachry 58H.

Comments/Suggestions

The variety of available hardware and software is growing in response to the needs of our user community.  If you have specific suggestions for acquisitions you would like to be made, please e-mail staff@ne.tamu.edu.

Ethical Behavior

The network is a resource shared by a great number of people all doing important things.  Any deliberate waste of computer resources is irresponsible and unethical.  Accounts should be used for the purpose for which they have been established.  Please try to be considerate of everyone's needs and tailor your use accordingly.

Password Policy

Under NO circumstances should you divulge your password. Security on any computing network begins with the user.

Please ensure that the password you choose is a secure one. In general, try to follow these guidelines:

If you should happen to forget your password, see one of the Nuclear Engineering system administrators in 58H and they can reset it for you.

Note: The system administrator cannot tell you what your old password was, but can assign a new password that you can change on your next login.

To change your network password, press "Control-Alt-Delete" on a domain PC and click the "Change Password" button.
